If you’re out of the newsletter loop, here are two truths for you:
- You’re missing out (sign up, it’s free), and
- All Saints Amsterdam is preparing for a new chapter
After three years of pouring her heart and soul into our young Christian fellowship, the Rev. Canon Mpho Tutu van Furth is ready for a challenge to which she will be devoting most of her time and energy. You can read all about it in the latest issue of the All Saints Gazette.
Mpho's last Eucharist will be
on December 7 at Vrijburg at 18:00.
Mpho's last service will be Evening Prayer
on December 21 online at 18:00.
We know many of you originally flocked to our community precisely because it was such a lovely opportunity to connect with a church leader whose lived experiences were food for thought for all, and a way to comfort our afflictions for many. Over the course of the past few weeks, many of you have asked us: what’s next? The Bishop’s Committee of All Saints has been hard at work to learn from our community, and we’ll gladly tell you about what our next chapter will look like.
So, what does this mean for All Saints Amsterdam?
- All Saints. Every Sunday. Six o’clock. The rhythm of gathering on Sunday evenings has given us a sustainable way to connect, reflect, rest, and recharge. In the words of King Solomon and his posse: if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
- We remain part of the European Episcopal church. As a mission of the Convocation of Episcopal Churches in Europe, All Saints Amsterdam is part of a broader family of churches, and we’re eager to continue on this path.
- We’re excited to explore and experiment. The community of All Saints is a place of vibrancy and diversity, as is the city of Amsterdam. Over the course of 2026, we’re eager to venture into new territory to engage both much more intentionally, one step at a time.
- A note about priests and preachers: Kyle is currently on leave, as was announced in September. We believe it’s important he take enough time to continue working hard on health and family matters. In the meantime, All Saints will invite visiting priests to offer the Eucharist.
What you can do
Well, in the very first place take good care of yourself, of course!
The holidays are coming up, and while we always take delight in the warm light that is the birth of Jesus, we know December isn’t an easy month for everyone. Join us every weekday at 09:00 for Morning Prayer to start your days off with intention, and take a seat at our table every Sunday at 18:00.
If you’re looking for something asynchronous that you can do on your own time, make sure to check out the free Virtual Sit Meditations for Advent offered by The Center for Action and Contemplation.
Contribute to our future
What were you hoping to find at All Saints, and how can we best serve you in your everyday life? Tell us about it with a simple email! Help us out by making a one-time or recurring donation of any amount. All Saints is a community that, while young and full of energy, is not self-sustaining. We need you because you need us, and every little bit helps. Make a donation today or set up a monthly bank transfer in a few easy steps.
Come speak your mind on Sunday Dec. 7
During our annual general meeting, you need your vote on a few documents, and we’d like to learn more about what you need from us. Coincidentally, it’s also Mpho’s last in-person Eucharist with us, so if you’d like to tell her in person what her ministry has meant to you, be sure not to miss out.
